Whilst counselling is a supportive process for any journey, you may also benefit from contacting one of these organisations, particularly for more specialist support. For instance, there are some areas, such as eating disorders, in which it is recommended you speak with an expert. These organisations can also give you support,while you continue with counselling- it's not one or the other.

Domestic abuse
Realised that you need to exit your situation, but not sure how to? Women's Aid have years of experience of helping people leave their abusive partner safely. Leaving is the most dangerous time, so it's important to seek help.
In crisis?
You have options if you need to talk to someone urgently in order to keep yourself safe from self harm or suicide. You can text SHOUT on 85258 for a text based conversation, or call the Samaritans on 116 123 any time day or night.
Young person in crisis?
Under 19s can still text the SHOUT crisis line on 85258 with 'YM', or you can contact Childline on 0800 1111. The phone call will not show up on your phone bill.

Feeling lonely and isolated?
Realising the people around you are not supporting your mental health can be hard, because the alternative- setting boundaries- can be lonely. In fact, there are many reasons to feel isolated and alone in modern society. The Red Cross have lots of resources and suggestions and services for combating loneliness.

No one tells us how much we will be affected by perimenopause and menopause! Let's start talking about it. Balance have information, resources and guidance on navigating this period of your life (or that of a family member) in an informed way.

Struggling as a parent?
It's not unusual to be emotional or overwhelmed as a parent, but there's a great deal of stigma attached to sharing the experience. You are not alone, in fact there are charities, like Family Action, that want to support you with non-judgemental conversation and resources.

Both Parents Matter exist to support fathers keep in touch with their children after separation wherever possible, focusing on the children's wellbeing and avoiding conflict.
